The derby spoils will go to whichever of Nice or Monaco best imposes their distinctive style on Sunday evening’s clash at Allianz Riviera.

Nice boast the second- best defensive record in the top five leagues of Europe and regularly shut out opponents at home. Les Aiglons have recorded eight clean sheets from 10 home fixtures – a ratio more than double the league average in France.

After years of being in their neighbours’ shadow, Nice will look to win their third straight league game against Monaco. Les Aiglons drew 0-0 at third-placed Brest last weekend and put four past Montpellier in the cup on Tuesday, so should not lack confidence for this clash.

They can justify their favorites tag in this fixture but a more tempting bet is on offer for both teams not to score and fewer than 2.5 goals to be produced on Sunday night. It would have landed in 13 of Nice’s last 15 games, including each of their last four.
