Nigeria vs Ivory Coast Predictions
- Nigeria have won four of their six matches this tournament, including beating Ivory Coast.
- Nigeria have won to nil in four of their last five games, with 1-0 being the scoreline in three of those.
- Ivory Coast have led for under two hours in the entire tournament.
Hosts stumble way to the final
This is Ivory Coast’s first time hosting the Africa Cup of Nations since 1984 and it is safe to say it’s been an eventful tournament for the Elephants.
They won just one of their three group games and looked on the brink of elimination, prompting the sacking of manager Jean-Louis Gasset and the appointment of interim boss Emerse Fae before it was confirmed they had actually qualified for the knockout stages.
Two victories after the regulation 90 minutes and a second-half winner against Congo DR in the semi-finals later and they are in the mix for their first Africa Cup of Nations title since 2015, despite leading for under two hours throughout the whole tournament.
Super Eagles to soar in Abidjan
Nigeria have been a much more convincing outfit, winning four of their six games in the tournament and only being taken beyond the 90 minutes thanks to a dramatic 90th-minute penalty against South Africa in the semi-finals.
The Super Eagles beat Ivory Coast 1-0 in the group stage and, with two more 1-0 triumphs following for Nigeria, backing them to win alongside a 1-0 correct score prediction looks good value.
