Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City Predictions
- Nottingham Forest have failed to score in all four of their home league losses.
- Manchester City have won their last seven games across all comps, scoring 21 goals in the process.
- City score on average 2.4 goals per-game in the Premier League.
Surging City have too much for Forest
Nottingham Forest entertain title hopefuls Manchester City in the early Premier League kick off on Saturday and the hosts could be in line for a difficult afternoon.
City briefly replaced Arsenal at the top of the league table over the weekend and they can put more pressure on the leaders again, as the Gunners have a 3pm kick off.
Forest have been much-improved under Sean Dyche but they have still shown signs of vulnerability. The Reds lost 2-0 at home to Brighton at the end of last month and went down 3-0 at Everton a couple of weeks ago.
City have put together a five-game Premier League winning run that started with a pair of unconvincing wins over Leeds and Fulham, as the nearly allowed respective two and three-goal leads to slip away. Since then, they’ve been more reliable with a trio of 3-0 wins in the league, alongside a 2-1 triumph at Real Madrid and an EFL Cup win over Brentford.
City can win with room to spare
City should be able to come out on top here and a couple of options stand out. An away win to nil is one as Pep Guardiola’s side have three successive league clean sheets and when Forest lost they generally draw a blank, the Tricky Trees went down 1-0 defeat at Fulham on Monday for their ninth Premier League loss of the season and they have failed to score in all of those defeats. However, taking a chance on City covering a -1 handicap is preferred.
Forest have four home losses in the league this season and three of those defeats have come by more than one goal. City’s last three wins in all competitions have been by two or more goals and they have the division’s best attack with 41 goals scored in just 17 games so they can win at the City Ground by two or more goals.
A 3-0 win for City is the correct score prediction as they have scored at least three goals in five consecutive league games and exactly three in four of those, and due to Forest’s record of failing to score in defeats.
Erling Haaland is the obvious pick for an anytime goal as he has 19 goals in just 17 games but he has been getting a bit more support from his team-mates in sharing the goalscoring burden lately and at a bigger price Phil Foden is another option, Foden has six goals in his last five league games and can continue his purple patch with a goal at Forest.
