Tip Reasoning

  • Both teams have scored in five of Manchester City’s last six competitive games.
  • Leeds have scored five goals in their last three matches.
  • Manchester City have won 2-1 in three of their last six games.

City remain top of the pile

Manchester City retained their spot at the top of the Premier League with a slender 1-0 win over Wolves on Saturday and they should be able to keep up the pace when they host Leeds on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions and their only failure – a 2-1 loss at RB Leipzig – was a dead rubber in the Champions League.

Whites find their shooting boots

Leeds come into this on the back of a dreadfully disappointing result at Chelsea. They equalised through Joe Gelhardt with just seven minutes remaining only for Jorginho to win the game from the spot in the dying embers, leaving Marcelo Bielsa’s side 15th in the table and just five points above the drop zone.

One positive for the Whites is the rediscovery of their scoring form. They have netted five goals in their last three games and have only failed to score once in the last eight Premier League matches.

Expect goals at the Etihad

This points towards an entertaining match at the Etihad. Both teams have scored in five of Manchester City’s last six competitive games and they have only kept three clean sheets in their last ten. With Leeds finding their shooting boots again, backing both teams to score is the way to go here.

In the end it would be a shock to see anything other than a Manchester City win. They have won by 2-1 scorelines in three of their last six games and I’m backing that to happen again for my correct score prediction.

Manchester City predicted lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko; Rodri, Silva, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Jesus, Foden

Leeds predicted lineup: Meslier; Dallas, Ayling, Llorente, Firpo; Raphinha, Shackleton, Forshaw, James; Roberts; Gelhardt

  • Backing Manchester City to win and both teams to score has been a winner in three of their last four Premier League game
  • Four of Manchester City’s last five Premier League games have produced three or more goals
