Notts County vs Plymouth Predictions
If you told us at the start of the season that these two sides would sit in 22nd and 24th with just a single point between them after two games then we would have laughed in your face. They now go head to head and both sides will be desperate to kick start their season with three points on Tuesday night.
Notts County will be disappointed with their opening day defeat to Yeovil Town and they will be frustrated with the 1-1 draw at Stevenage at the weekend. Boss John Sheridan read the riot act after that result and he went so far as to say that ‘no team of mine shall play like that.’ Seeing how his team reacts to such public criticism will be interesting but the loan of signing of defender Lewis Laing may be a larger factor in any sort of improvement in performance, although having only signed on Monday he may not come straight into the team.
Plymouth were 90 minutes away from League One having qualified for the play-off finals last season but after defeat there and following the news that every single player was out of contract it’s been a hectic summer at Home Park. Argyle’s back to back defeats from the opening couple of fixtures this season places them at the bottom of the table and if they’re not careful then it could quickly become a nightmare for the Pilgrims.
Both these sides are struggling in front of goal and historically this fixture is a low scoring affair. We think that those two factors indicate another low scoring game and are tipping less than 2.5 goals at 8/11 with bet365. We think home advantage may just be enough to pinch the points for Notts County and are tipping a 1-0 home win for the correct score tip.
