Perth not comfortable on home soil

Perth Glory made it eight games without a win when they fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Wellington Phoenix last time out. The hosts are sitting slap-bang bottom of the table after returning just 13 points from their 17 matches this campaign. They don’t have the luxury of a solid home form to rely on as they’ve secured just five of a possible 24 points available when playing at HBF Park this season. Ruben Zadkovich’s side haven’t tasted victory at home since February and have conceded at least twice in four of their last five home A-League games.

Newcastle Jets, however, are coming off the back of a win as they were able to score two past Sydney without reply in their most recent fixture. Their away matches this campaign have been nothing short of entertaining with at least three goals being scored in all eight and both teams hitting the back of the net in seven of those. The visitors have scored in seven of their eight away matches this campaign – the only one they have failed to score in so far was against second-placed Adelaide United. Given how easily they’ve been able to score on the road, they’ll fancy their chances of making it back-to-back wins here against a poor Perth outfit.

Goals the likely outcome

Perth can’t buy a win at the moment and are far too vulnerable in defence. We think that there will be at least three goals here as Newcastle Jets find themselves in yet another thriller away from home.
