Perth Glory vs Sydney FC Predictions

Perth Glory haven’t started the season with the fire of last year but have been decidedly average with one win, one loss and three draws. They’ve also scored and conceded 6 goals with nothing really standing out for Tony Popovic’s side so far. There is much potential within the squad though and with the likes of Diego Castro and Bruno Fornaroli, Perth could explode into a great run of form at any time. A fixture against Sydney FC doesn’t inspire confidence though with the visitors winning 11 of the last 12 games between the two sides and Perth will be hard pushed to avoid another defeat here against a confident Sydney side.

Sydney have only got one blemish on their record so far this season, their controversial 1-0 loss to bitter rivals Western Sydney Wanderers in round 3. Other than that, the current Champions have looked in fantastic form, not feeling the effects of Graham Arnold leaving to take control of the Australian National team. They’ve yet to keep a clean sheet though and do look beatable, with the psychological side of things being a factor as sides come up against a team that has led the way for the past few years. Sydney have fared well against their rivals from the West in recent years, losing just once in 12 games, the best head to head record between two sides in the league.

We’re confident that Sydney will be able to keep this run going, using their excellent attacking options and mental advantage over their opponents to pick up another win and we’re tipping Sydney Draw No Bet for a little bit of insurance. Perth Glory have the ability to win this game but haven’t looked good enough so far this season, a trend we see continuing, but with the money back for a draw insurance of this bet, we’re a little more confident in backing Sydney to travel west and pick up all three points again.

With that in our minds, we’re predicting a 2-1 win for Sydney FC, a victory that should show their dominance but also highlight that Perth Glory will be a major part of what should be a close game between two sides that will hope to be at the top end of the table in May. Sydney have a wealth of attacking talent that seem to be hitting form and that should be enough to see them claim the win and push the teams above them into getting results too.
