Montreal have struggled at the back this season, and that should allow both teams to get on the scoresheet when they visit Philadelphia Union at PPL Park.

Philadelphia Union are in excellent form, having won 13 of their 22 games this season. Montreal, on the other hand, are struggling badly, with just three wins so far. In fact, the hosts have 28 points more than the visitors.

Philadelphia Union won 2-0 against New York Red Bulls at the weekend and are unbeaten in their last nine home games in MLS. Montreal have been in patchy form recently, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six games.

Ten of the last 11 MLS meetings between these sides have seen both teams score, and five of the last seven times that Philadelphia Union have hosted Montreal in the league have also ended with both sides finding the net.

Both teams have their defensive issues. Philadelphia Union have failed to keep a clean sheet in 17 of their last 20 MLS games against Montreal, while the visitors have conceded 41 goals this season – an average of nearly two per game.

A 2-1 home win for Philadelphia Union is the correct score pick. Both teams to score has been a winning bet in eight of Montreal’s last ten MLS games, and the hosts have won seven of their games this season by the odd goal.
