      Portsmouth to Win

      Reason for tip

Portsmouth can make it back-to-back Championship wins after edging Oxford 1-0 on opening day. They’ve scored in 15 of their last 17 league games and meet a Norwich side still settling under Liam Manning. The Canaries have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last eight and lost four of their final five away matches last term.

      Portsmouth 1-0

      Reason for tip

A repeat of last weekend’s 1-0 win over Oxford looks likely for Portsmouth. Under 2.5 goals has landed in their last four league matches, and they’ve been solid in tight games at Fratton Park. Norwich’s leaky away record and Pompey’s ability to grind out narrow victories make a single-goal home success the value call.

Pompey Poised to Edge Past Norwich

Portsmouth should be backed to beat Norwich at home in the Championship on Saturday.

Norwich finished 13th in the Championship last season, four points ahead of Portsmouth in 16th, but they lost four of their final five away games, before opening the new season with a 2-1 loss at home to Millwall.

The visitors achieved 57 points from 14 wins, 15 draws and 17 losses, while Pompey had 54 points with a record of 14 wins, 12 draws and 20 defeats.

Portsmouth were 1-0 winners against Oxford in their opener last weekend, with Adrian Segecic scoring the only goal of the game in the 38th minute. The betting suggested there would not be much between the teams, but Portsmouth edged to victory to the delight of those who backed them at 17/10.

They have scored in 15 of their last 17 league games and will be confident of finding the net against a Norwich side who could need time to adapt to life under Liam Manning.

The visitors have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last eight Championship games.

A narrow 1-0 win for Portsmouth appeals in the correct-score market. Under 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in their last four Championship games and they edged past Oxford by the same scoreline last weekend.
