Tip Reasoning
Title favourites Portsmouth had to endure a fairly slow start to the season but they look to have kicked into gear in recent weeks and have started to climb towards the top of the division. Paul Cook has seen a large overhaul of his squad in the summer and his new recruits may have taken their time to settle in but they are now starting to look like a cohesive unit. Pompey are building from the back and they already boast the best defence in the division having conceded just three times in their opening six games and keeping three clean sheets on the spin.
Wycombe haven’t enjoyed their start to the season and Gareth Ainsworth’s men currently sit just one spot outside the drop zone as the early season table starts to take shape. Ainsworth would have gone in to this season with high expectations after his side was one of the league’s surprise packages last year but after a frustrating run of injuries his side have not been able to hit the same heights.
Our tip in this game is for a Portsmouth win but looking at the odds the outright win doesn’t give much in the way of value. We think Pompey should be quite comfortable and Wycombe will cause little threat to the scoreboard so we are going to boost our return by back Portsmouth half time/full time at 13/10 with bet365. For our correct score tip we like the look of another clean sheet and are backing a 2-0 win at 11/2 with the same site.
