Portugal U19 vs France U19 Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Portugal U19 started the group stages of this UEFA U19 Championship with a rather disappointing 1-1 draw against Austria U19, with them requiring to come from a goal behind to claim the point. However, they managed to make amends for this with a thrilling 4-3 win over Germany U19 to put them in the lead in their group. This meant that Italy U19 needed a win in the final group game against Portugal U19 to top the group, but a 15th minute opener from Portugal put that under threat. Italy U19 did manage a late equaliser, but the point apiece meant that Portugal U19 topped the group on goals scored.

This draw against Italy U19 made it 14 matches unbeaten for Portugal U19, although only four of their last nine games have resulted in a victory. On the plus side, they have scored a huge 28 goals in their last 11 matches, conceding 11 at the other end to make for some very entertaining matches.

France U19 began their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to England U19 to end their six match unbeaten streak and hand them just their second defeat in their last 15 matches in all competitions.

However, they bounced back with a 2-0 win over Croatia and followed it up with a sensational performance in their last group match. Attacking duo Kyllan Mbappe Lottin and Jean Augustin put in excellent performances as they bagged two goals and three goals respectively to guide France U19 to a 5-1 thrashing of their opponents. Despite this excellent showing, it wasn’t enough for them to secure the top spot in their group as they ended three points behind England U19.

This made it seven wins, one draw, and one defeat in their last nine matches and took their goals tally during this period to an excellent 27 goals, with five being conceded at the other end.

Both of these teams are in excellent attacking form at the moment, and as such we’ve seen quite a few high scoring matches. Portugal U19 have seen at least three goals in seven of their last 11 outings, whilst France U19 have in five of their last nine. This makes a prediction of Over 2.5 Goals at 1/1 look like a profitably backing, so that’s what I’m going for alongside a 2-1 win for France U19 at 17/2 for my correct score prediction.
