Norway to Win

Reason for tip

Portugal won the reverse fixture last week but Norway can count themselves unfortunate not to have taken at least a point. Norway have won their last five competitive away games and look backable as big price underdogs to stun Portugal.

Norway 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in 11 consecutive Norway games and that pattern could continue on Sunday. Portugal won the reverse fixture 2-1 and Norway can return the favour by triumphing via the same scoreline.

Erling Haaland To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Erling Haaland’s seven-game scoring streak for club and country came to an end in Wales but the Man City striker can get back among the goals with an anytime effort in Portugal.

Portugal vs Norway Predictions

  • Norway had an xG of 2.52 to Portugal’s 1.04 in last week’s meeting
  • Norway have won their last five competitive away games

Underdogs Norway have a chance in Porto

Portugal have enjoyed a perfect start to their Nations League defence with three wins in as many games ahead of their clash with Norway in Porto on Sunday.

Portugal won the reverse fixture 2-1 and have a formidable home record. The hosts, who are without Cristiano Ronaldo after he left the squad, are deserved favourites but at a big price Norway look worth the risk here.

The Scandinavian nation opened their own Nations League bid with a 3-2 win over Denmark before their loss to Portugal. In the reverse fixture, they dominated for large periods and had more chances but slipped to an unfortunate defeat.

Norway lost to Wales last time out but were reduced to 10 men early in the second half. If they perform as they did in the first meeting with Portugal that may be enough for a win in the second meeting, so they look overpriced at 4/1 even when taking into account the fact the hosts have eight wins in their last 10 on Portuguese soil.

Both teams have scored in 11 consecutive Norway games and that pattern could continue on Sunday. Portugal won the reverse fixture 2-1 and Norway can return the favour by triumphing via the same scoreline.
