PSG vs Ludogorets Predictions
PSG’s unbeaten streak came to a dramatic end on Saturday evening as Montpellier beat them 3-0 to resign them to defeat for the first time since September. This ended a run of 12 unbeaten games in which they had won ten and managed to propel themselves back up the Ligue 1 table after a poor start.
The Champions League is looking quite good for them though. Their 2-2 draw at the Emirates in November put them in prime position to take the top spot in the group, with them just needing to match Arsenal’s result in this final group game to secure the top seed.
PSG getting anything less than a victory on Tuesday looks very unlikely as well, despite their horrendous showing on Saturday. At the Parc des Princes they have won seven and drawn three of their ten games this season, and they haven’t lost on home turf since a March defeat to Monaco.
The hosts may be facing a tighter Ligue 1 title race than recent years, but they have managed to convert Edinson Cavani into a dominant central striker again after Ibrahimovic’s departure. The Uruguayan has now netted 19 times in all competitions, with five of them coming in the Champions League. He looks by far the favourite option for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
He’s likely to get a few chances as well if Ludogorets’ previous performance against PSG is anything to go by. They lost 3-1 at home and find themselves in 3rd position in the group with just two points from a possible 15. As long as they can match Basel’s result against Arsenal they will qualify for the Europa League knockout stages though.
Domestically the visitors are doing very well at the moment, but the difference in quality is huge. Ludogorets are winless in six matches in the Champions League and have conceded 13 goals in the group stages so far. They lost 3-2 at home to Arsenal but 6-0 away from home, and considering their 3-1 defeat at home to PSG this could be a landslide defeat for them.
PSG have won three of their last seven home games by at least three goals, and they were largely against better opposition than Ludogorets. Backing a PSG -2.5 Asian Handicap Win at 2.025 looks a good option, as does a 4-0 correct score predictions at 13/2.
