Champions can ease to victory over La Paillade

Paris Saint-Germain started their first season without Kylian Mbappe with a comfortable win at Le Havre and they can make it two wins from two when they host Montpellier on Friday night.

The Parisiens have not had the greatest run of form at the Parc des Princes – winning just one of their last six in front of their own fans in all competitions – however they have enjoyed home meetings with Montpellier in recent years with wins in each of their last eight, six of which coming to nil.

La Paillade took 24 points away from the Stade de la Mosson last season which could provide some home for the visitors. However, they have won just five of their 38 total meetings with the 12-time champions and so history is not on their side.

PSG’s scoring capabilities showed no sign of slowing in the absence of Mbappe as four different players found the scoresheet last Friday and another high-scoring performance could be in store. The hosts have scored at least four goals in five of their last seven home meetings with Montpellier and a repeat of this feat could be in store in a 4-0 thrashing.
