Champions clash in Eindhoven encounter

The purists will be thrilled for this Champions League clash between PSV and Napoli as it sees two league winners from last season face off in Eindhoven. 

However, only one of the pair took a positive step to defending their crown over the weekend as Napoli fell to a shock 1-0 defeat at Torino while PSV beat Go Ahead Eagles 2-1 

That result for Tuesday’s hosts extended their unbeaten run to five, meaning they have the momentum coming into the fixture. 

Conte’s crew can bounce back

That might not be enough for PSV to pick up a result; though, with their Champions League performances leaving a lot to be desired. 

A 3-1 home defeat to Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise was followed by a 1-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen. While that second result represents a solid point, they mustered up only 0.49 xG and may struggle to break down a resolute Napoli. 

Antonio Conte is not the kind of manager to let his team off lightly after such a disappointing defeat and his Gli Azzurri should bounce back in Eindhoven.
