Reason For Rangers vs Braga Predictions

  • Braga are unbeaten in their last 10 competitive matches.
  • Under 2.5 goals have been scored in three of Braga’s last five matches.
  • Under 2.5 goals have been scored in three of Rangers’ last four  home games.
  • Braga didn’t lose a single game in Group K.

Braga haven’t lost since returning from the winter break

Braga impressed as they finished ahead of Wolves in Group K without losing a single match, while Rangers pinched second spot in Group G, finishing a point above Young Boys but only managing two wins in six European matches. Both teams head into Thursday’s clash in good form, with Rangers picking up four wins, one draw and one defeat from their last six outings, and Braga securing five wins and a draw from their last six matches in all competitions.

Domestically, Braga average 1.73 points per away game and have been in great form since returning from the winter break. They have avoided defeat in 64% of their trips on the road. Braga won all three of their away games during the group stage but will be expecting a tough 90 minutes against a Rangers side that have only lost 8% of their home games in the Premiership.

Rangers lost once and drew three times in the group stage but still managed to qualify in second place, with four of their six matches producing under 2.5 goals. Under 2.5 goals have been scored in 64% of Braga’s away games and 46% of Rangers’ home games this season, and we have backed the pair to play out a goalless draw on Thursday.

Rangers don’t lose many games in their own backyard

Both teams have scored in just 45% of Braga’s away games and only 31% of Rangers’ home games so far, with the hosts keeping a clean sheet in 62% of their home games as well as in two of their three home matches during the group stage of the Europa League. Braga have kept clean sheets in 27% of their away games and have only failed to score in 27% as well, and a double chance bet covers us for the away win.

Rangers have only conceded six goals at home this term and Braga have only conceded 10 on the road, adding further weight to our prediction for a 0-0 draw on Thursday. Braga didn’t lose home or away against the likes of Wolves, Besiktas, and Slovan Bratislava in the group stage and the visitors look full of confidence following their Taca da Liga Final victory against Porto, so we won’t be shocked to see the Portuguese club escape Scotland either level or ahead on the scoreboard.

All in all, we’re confident a double chance bet on Braga is the best way to go this Thursday. Both teams look strong at the back and haven’t been losing many games of late. A draw would suit the visitors much more than the hosts.
