Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

At least four goals have been scored in six of Real Madrid’s last seven home games in all competitions and also in three of Osasuna’s six away league and cup matches this term. Last season’s two clashes of these clubs featured four and six goals respectively.

Real Madrid 3-1

Reason for tip

Real Madrid rarely lose three games in a row let alone three at home, so there is still belief that they will respond to adversity and pull out a win of some kind. But given their defensive issues, which have bene exploited by batter teams than Osasuna, it may be best to back them to concede again in a 3-1 win.

Vinicius Jr. To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Vinicius Junior has scored six goals in his last five games for Real Madrid and may have a point to prove after missing out on the Ballon d’Or.

Real Madrid vs Osasuna Predictions

  • At least four goals have been scored in six of Real Madrid’s last seven home games in all competitions
  • At least four goals have been scored in three of Osasuna’s six away league and cup matches this term
  • Last season’s two La Liga matches between these clubs finished 4-0 and 4-2 to Real Madrid

Milan mauling was more worrying than Barca blowout

Real Madrid should avoid losing a third straight home game when they entertain Osasuna at the Bernabeu on Saturday night but, with a flurry of goals likely, it may be better to take the result out of the equation.

Los Blancos lost 3-1 at home to AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday and while that will be nothing but a minor setback to the holders’ chances of retaining the trophy, the performance Carlo Ancelotti’s side was in many ways more worrying than in the 4-0 home La Liga loss to Barcelona last month.

This was in the competition that Real Madrid have dominated in past and recent history and they were given a lesson in front of their own fans. Ancelotti’s side conceded nine shots on target – more than in any other Champions League group stage home game since at least 2003/04 season – and the visitors could easily have scored five or six goals.

Osasuna will fancy their chances of scoring

Madrid have now lost consecutive home games conceding at least three goals in each for the first time in all competitions since May 2009 under Juande Ramos. And Osasuna will be scenting blood ahead of their trip to the Bernabeu.

Los Rojillos are an improving force away from home and earned their first three points on the road last time out when they won 2-0 at Real Sociedad. Vicente Moreno’s side have scored in three of their last four league trips and can get at least one on Saturday if Madrid’s defence is as generous as it was to AC Milan.

Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is being kept busy because the balance of the team this year seems wrong and it may be best to swerve backing Real Madrid until they show signs of having fixed the issues. Siding with over 3.5 goals in the game should keep backers interested because at least four goals have been scored in six of Real Madrid’s last seven home games and in both clashes between these clubs last term.
