Real Salt Lake vs Whitecaps Betting Tips & Predictions

Real Salt Lake have made some major improvements during the off-season and their record so far this season seems to indicate that they will be bettering their 9th place finish in the MLS Western Conference this time round.

They remain unbeaten in the new MLS campaign, with draws against Orlando City and Portland Timbers joining a trio of wins against Seattle Sounders, Sporting KC, and Colorado Rapids.

This puts them 3rd in the MLS Western Conference, and they are just three points behind conference leaders FC Dallas and have two games in hand on them. A win against Whitecaps could see them move top with games to spare.

Whitecaps come into this game on the back of a humbling 4-0 defeat at DC United last weekend, which takes their record to three defeats, two wins, and one draw in their opening six MLS games.

This puts them down in 7th position at this early stage in the MLS season, but they already know that they will need to improve considerably if they are to get anywhere near the 2nd place finish they accomplished last season.

Away from home they are struggling a bit more though. They have only won one of their last 11 away days in all competitions and have lost seven of these, while Real Salt Lake have won six of their last nine games at home.

This, in addition to Whitecaps’ confidence taking a knock on Saturday, makes odds of 21/20 for a Real Salt Lake Win look very good value for money. I’m going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1 as well.
