Red Bull Salzburg vs Lille Predictions

• The hosts have won their last three games and are undefeated in their last 17 matches overall.

Salzburg to squeeze past Lille

As expected, the hosts have had a fantastic start to the season, with their only dropped points coming in the Champions League as they drew their opener away to Sevilla.

They’ve won their first nine games in the Austrian Bundesliga and have scored 23 goals whilst conceding just four.

Last season’s Ligue 1 champions have failed to replicate that form, but it was always going to be difficult when they lost their manager Christophe Galtier to Nice alongside a couple of key players.

They’ve won just three of their opening eight games but got their first away win of the season at the weekend as they scraped past Strasbourg 2-1.

Matthias Jaissle’s side were impressive away to Sevilla in matchday one – drawing 1-1. They were unlucky not to win, registering eight shots on target to Sevilla’s one and dominated the ball throughout.

Lille have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their Ligue 1 games this campaign and are a shadow of the side that defied the odds to win the title last season.

We’re expecting Salzburg to once again dominate and apply the pressure on Lille, leading to plenty of chances. Salzburg are clinical and should claim victory on home turf.
