      Rochdale vs Accrington Stanley Predictions

Two sides towards the bottom of League One meet at Spotland this week, as Rochdale search for their first home win of the campaign. The hosts are coming off a patchy stretch against an Accrington side who are starting to pick up points, but we don’t think that the visitors will have it all their own way this weekend.

Rochdale have had an up and down season so far, but a 3-2 defeat against Wimbledon has left them in 19th place in the table. Despite that, Dale have played some impressive football at times this term, which suggests that they can turn around a poor stretch. This weekend’s clash with Accrington seems like the perfect opportunity to do that.

The visitors are fresh from an EFL Trophy win at Oldham, leaving them unbeaten in their last five. However, they sit just a point ahead of Dale, while they’ve struggled for results on the road this term. Stanley are also in relegation danger, which makes this a crucial clash for the hosts.

Rochdale may not have a great record at home this term, but the lowest-ranked side they’ve faced here is 11th placed Lincoln, who started the season in great form. Their problems at their own ground have come after facing off with Wycombe and Sunderland already, so they should relish the chance to take on a struggling team.

Rochdale have pulled off a couple of solid results at the teams around them They’ve won at Southend and Tranmere so far, two of the current bottom four. A clash with a fellow bottom-six side at Spotland should offer the hosts a chance to fix their form, while they won this fixture in November last year.

Rochdale have a fine record against Accrington, including their double in their meetings last season. The hosts have won six of the last seven encounters between these two, which includes a four-game winning streak. Despite that, you can get great value on a home win for Rochdale as they chase a fifth win in seven home clashes with Accrington.

We think that the hosts are great value on the Draw No Bet market for this home clash, while we are backing them to narrowly edge it. We are going with a narrow 1-0 success for Dale as our correct score bet, with that scoreline landing in the last two clashes between these sides.
