Roda JC vs FC Eindhoven Predictions

Roda JC recovered from back to back defeats on match day five to see off RKC Waalwijk 0-1 at Mandemakers Stadion, courtesy of a 61^st minute winner from full-back Henk Dijkhuizen. Robert Molenaar’s side need to achieve some consistency to keep pace with the Eerste Divisie leaders, and they have a perfect opportunity to start doing that this Friday against an FC Eindhoven side who are pointless after five games.

Nine points from their first five matches isn’t a disaster for Roda JC by any means, however the lack of draws overall in Eerste Divisie (just nine in total from 50 fixtures thus far), means three wins and two defeats in only good enough for 9^th place in the table at this stage.

Robert Molenaar’s side sit just behind a group of teams on ten points and will fancy their chances of potentially moving up into the Play-off places this Friday with a win against struggling FC Eindhoven, who’ve they beaten in both previous competitive encounters which came in the 2014/15 campaign.

Eindhoven are in a real mess after losing all five of their Eerste Divisie fixtures to date, and pre-season hopes of achieving a top half finish this term already appear all but gone.

David Nascimento’s side were edged out 0-1 at home to MVV last week to compound losses already suffered to Almere City, Sparta Rotterdam, Go Ahead Eagles and Jong PSV – and Eerste Divisie’s longest residents are rooted to the foot of the table as a result.

The games don’t appear to be getting any easier for Eindhoven but can they can take some heart from the fact that they’ve not been beaten out of site in any of their fixtures, as all defeats have been by a two goal margin or less.

They had the worst defence in Eerste Divisie last term, and although the concession of nine goals from five this season is still poor, it’s only one more than Roda JC have let slip and three other teams in the second tier have shipped double figures.

Eindhoven’s biggest concern right now is clearly in front of goal with just two scored in 450 minutes of football, and it’s hard to envisage them outscoring a Roda side that have bagged twice in both of their home games this term.

Roda were turned over 2-3 by NEC in their last outing at Parkstad Limburg Stadion but the Kerkrade outfit look real banker material here to hand FC Eindhoven their sixth straight loss of the campaign.

We expect Robert Molenaar’s men to win this comfortably minus a one goal handicap to get back in the promotion mix, and a 2-0 result is our correct score prediction.
