Waterford United to Win

Reason for tip

Waterford have won eight of their last 11 games and should be able to extend that good recent run against a St Pat’s side that have lost ten of their 24 outings.

Waterford United vs St Patricks Predictions

  • Waterford have won eight of their last 11 games
  • Four of Waterford’s last five home games have seen them win and both sides score

Surprise package Waterford to continue progress

Waterford have been the surprise package in the League of Ireland this season, they needed a play-off to secure promotion back to the top flight but they have done nothing but impress back in the top flight.

They have been particularly strong recently, winning eight of their last 11 games, and the only teams they have failed to beat in that run are the top two Derry and Shelbourne.

Padraig Amond has been a rock solid addition to the team with the veteran providing a real cutting edge up top, only Derry’s Patrick Hoban has scored more than the former Newport County striker.

Waterford are the second-top scorers in the division and they are fancied to get the better of this St Patrick’s Athletic side. Only the bottom two Dundalk and Drogheda have lost more than St Pat’s ten this season and they also have the third-worst defensive record in the division.

Both teams may get on scoresheet

With the visitors struggling defensively and Waterford also sometimes leaky at the back, it makes sense to play both teams to score in the correct score predictions.

Four of Waterford’s last five home games have seen both teams score and the hosts win so side with a 2-1 win for Keith Long’s men.
