Dons can return to winning ways against hapless hosts

Aberdeen’s title push has taken a hit in recent weeks but the Dons will feel confident that they can bounce back against a Hearts side that are floundering in front of goal.

Jimmy Thelin’s men twice conceded in injury time to draw 3-3 with Hibernian last time out and also lost 2-1 to St Mirren in the previous week, falling two points behind leaders Celtic and having played a game more.

Neil Critchley’s Hearts on the other hand were beaten 2-0 by Cercle Brugge in the Conference League on Thursday, missing a number of good opportunities including a penalty, and have lost each of their last three at home in all competitions, including a resounding 4-1 loss to the Bhoys in their last Tynecastle fixture.

With the host’s struggling to for both goals and points, all signs point to a valuable Aberdeen victory. The Dons have scored four goals across their last two games and they should be more than capable of putting two past the hosts on Sunday.
