Tough stretch for Sassuolo

Sassuolo have made a strong return to Serie A, sitting comfortably midtable with 23 points from 19 matches. However, the Neroverdi are in the middle of a rough run of fixtures, following Wednesday’s 3-0 defeat to Juventus.

The Neroverdi were completely outplayed at home to Juve, and now they head out on the road to face Roma before a trip to champions Napoli.

The visitors haven’t fared too well in their biggest tests to date, losing five of their meetings with the top six. They’ve conceded twice at Como, AC Milan, and Inter, while they shipped multiple goals in home defeats to Napoli and Juve.

Roma haven’t fully embraced the style of play that manager Gian Piero Gasperini was known for at Atalanta, but they have beaten Lecce 2-0 and Genoa 3-1 across their last three matches.

Roma have suffered home defeats to nil against both Inter Milan and Napoli, but they’ve scord at least twice in in four of five meetings with sides placed 10th or lower. With Artem Dovbyk and Paulo Dybala featuring once again, the Giallorossi have the threat in the final third to trouble a Sassuolo side who are vulnerable defensively.
