Germany can take the spoils in high-scoring affair

Both Romania and Germany got their World Cup 2022 qualifying campaigns off to a winning start but Die Mannschaft look like the best bet to come out on top when the sides clash in Bucharest.

Romania will be missing forward Denis Alibec, defender Dragos Grigore and goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarasanu, after the Milan player retired from national team duties, and Germany come into this game after three wins in their last five matches.

They are perhaps a far cry from the side who won the 2014 World Cup but they have plenty of goals in their ranks, netting at least two goals in four of their last five assignments.

A talented crop of midfielders such as Kai Havertz, Leon Goretzka and Ilkay Gundogan among others should see them to victory but it is difficult to see this Germany team keeping a clean sheet so a Germany win and both teams to score could be the way to go.

Joachim Low’s side shipped six goals against Spain in their last away game and we predict a 3-1 win – the same scoreline by which they won against Ukraine near the end of last year.
