      Ross County vs Hibernian Predictions

      • Ross County are without a win in nine games in all competitions, five of which they’ve lost.
      • Hibernian have lost just one of their last 11 games in all competitions.
      • Hibernian are unbeaten in their last six matches against Ross County.
      • Only one team in the SPL has accumulated less home points than Ross County

Poor home form a problem for The Staggies

It’s been a different type of campaign for Ross County, who last season made light work of dominating the second division. This time around, they’re not top dogs but a side trying to remain in the division. Given that survival is their objective, Wednesday’s hosts have done a reasonable job, though they’re not quite close enough to the top six yet. As things stands, The Staggies are five points behind Hibernian, who’re in 6th.

If Ross County can improve their home form, then there’s no reason as to why they cannot challenge for 6th place. Unfortunately, they’ve won only two out of seven at Victoria Park. They’ve lost four of the other five. Having scored ten goals, they’ve made their presence felt offensively, but they’ve often not been at the races defensively, shipping 18 goals, conceding three or more on four occasions. They’ve also conceded lots of shots at home, surrendering an average of six shots on target and 14.29 shots per game. Such numbers aren’t positive, especially when they’re averaging just 5.63 and three at the other end.

Hibs look to extend unbeaten run

It’s not been a vintage season for Hibernian, but Wednesday’s visitors have hit their stride of late, as they’re unbeaten in four, three of which they’ve won.

Hibernian are also unbeaten in four away games, the last two of which they’ve won. During that time, despite failing to keep a clean sheet, they’ve been tough to beat, conceding no more than a single goal, scoring a total of eight. The problem is that they’ve been unable to prevent their opponents from scoring on the road, while they’ve not always compensated by creating lots either.

      Hosts deserve more respect

Ross County haven’t been prolific winners at home and they have struggled in lots of areas, but they’re not exactly up against a visiting side that has thrived on the road. Given that Hibs have won no more away games than the Staggies have home games, the home win looks slightly overpriced. Moreover, Ross County have scored slightly more goals at home than Hibernian have on the road. The hosts have also done slightly better in terms of shots against (at home compared to Hibs on the road). It’s also worth noting that Hibernian’s recent win away against St. Mirren was a tad fortunate, as they failed to create much, registering just three shots. When Ross County beat St. Mirren at home, they registered 14 shots.

By no means a game to go mad on, but a small punt on the hosts, with the insurance that ‘Draw No Bet’ provides, offers punters a slither of value.
