Ross County vs St Johnstone Predictions
Ross County were eliminated from the Scottish FA Cup last weekend as Aberdeen narrowly beat them 1-0 at the Global Energy Stadium, extending their winless run to four matches in all competitions. Three of these four games have ended in defeat, which has put them in a bit of jeopardy in the Scottish Premiership.
They come into this game in 9th position in the Premiership, but they are only three points clear of the relegation playoff position. A win on Saturday could send them as high as 6th though in an increasingly tight bottom half of the league table.
Ross County’s league form doesn’t look too pretty either. They have been struggling to win all season but have alleviated some of the pressure by proving difficult to beat, but they have now lost four of their last six in the Premiership and have still only won three of their last 21 league games. At home they are still a tough side to beat though, with two wins, three draws, and two defeats in their last seven games.
St Johnstone also became one of the Scottish FA Cup casualties last weekend as Partick knocked them out, following on from their 5-2 battering at the hands of Celtic the weekend before, to make it three wins and three defeats in their last six games in all competitions. In the Premiership they have won three, drawn three, and lost three of their last nine games.
Away from home their performances don’t tend to deteriorate either, with five wins, four draws, and just three defeats coming on the road this season, helping them to a 5th place standing in the league table with just three points between them and Hearts above them. Nine points below them lie Kilmarnock in 6th, making St Johnstone one of the few teams who seem safe from the relegation battle.
Considering Ross County’s recent form, I think St Johnstone can take all three points on Saturday, and odds of 1.725 for a St Johnstone 0.0 Asian Handicap win look good value for money. I’m backing that along with a tight 1-0 correct score predictions at 13/2.
