St Etienne vs PSG Predictions
Paris Saint Germain suffered their first Ligue 1 defeat since last March at the weekend as Lyon triumphed over them at their fortress of a new home ground Parc OL. This ended the champions-elect hopes of making it through an entire season unbeaten for the first time in Ligue 1 history and will have shellshocked a squad who haven’t lost in any competitions since a Champions League defeat to Real Madrid almost four months ago. There is no doubt that the PSG squad have the capability to bounce back from their shock defeat, but they will want to do so as quickly as possible in order to keep their quadruple hopes alive.
Saint-Etienne will be trying to make the grade for the Europa League again this season after they were knocked out of the competition last week to Basel. They are only a point off 4th position in Ligue 1, but there are as many as ten teams battling it out for 3rd and 4th positions.
Reasons for Betting Tips
Paris Saint Germain have been sensational going forward all season, but their hosts on Wednesday haven’t been too shabby either. Saint-Etienne have scored 13 goals in their last seven outings in all competitions, although their attacking setup has allowed the opposition to score ten goals against them during this period.
The visitors have only failed to score once in their last 21 matches in all competitions and six of their last seven matches have seen three or more goals scored. This makes odds of 19/20 for Over 2.5 Goals look really good value.
I do think Paris Saint Germain will get the win though. They are coming in off the back of a very disappointing defeat and will be keen to make amends for it. I’m expecting them to bounce back with a vengeance, so a comprehensive 3-1 correct score prediction looks good.
