SC Bastia vs Noisy Le Grand FC Predictions

Noisy come into this match off the back of six consecutive wins, two of which were in the Coupe de France against higher division opposition. Their victory over fifth-tier LCF was a great performance but not really a major surprise given the small distance between the two teams in terms of division but Noisy’s victory over Gazélec Ajaccio a few weeks ago was much more notable. Gazélec play in Ligue 2 but were stunned 2-1 by the sixth-tier opposition as Noisy managed to edge their Corsican opponents in Paris. Their opponents in this upcoming match are also from Corsica so could that be another good omen?

Noisy have been consistently threatening in attack with goals in every match this season, that’s 24 in their last 13 games. Their attack has completely blown opponents away in some matches but this has sometimes left their shaky defence exposed, and as a result they have kept just four clean sheets in their 13 matches this season. Even teams that are on the cusp of relegation like Sucy and Melun have scored goals against Noisy which could be a real problem for them here if they can’t sort it out against Bastia.

Bastia are just one division above Noisy in the Championnat National 3 but with this match pitting both divisions’ leaders against each other, it could be a tight one. Bastia are in fantastic form at the moment with eleven wins and a draw in their last twelve matches. They are currently eight points clear at the top of the table and look on track for promotion but they have struggled in their cup matches this season.

In their three Coupe de France games this campaign, one required penalties and another went all the way to extra time against weaker opponents. Bastia went into these matches with a bit of complacency but they won’t be able to do that against Noisy, who are flying on top of their division.

Bastia should flex their muscles with a win here though as they have such a dominating home record. They haven’t lost at home since April 2017 which is a record of 22 wins and four draws. Bastia will be eager to keep this going against Noisy and while the Parisians have been dominating the sixth-tier, Bastia’s home record and rise in quality should win them the game. However, Bastia have only kept two clean sheets in their last six games and with Noisy on a good scoring run, we’ll back them to get a goal in a 3-1 defeat.
