      Sevilla vs F91 Dudelange Predictions

Sevilla play host to minnows Dudelange on Thursday evening, as they look to extend their 100% record in Group A. The visitors on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back after a heavy defeat on match-day two.

It’s difficult to criticise Sevilla’s efforts in the Europa League this term. They’ve done what was expected of them by winning each of their first two matches and have done so in relatively convincing fashion. First time out, the Andalusians brushed aside Qarabag, winning by three goals to nil away from home. They were on top throughout and were never in any danger of walking away with less than three points.

Things were slightly more complicated when they took on APOEL at this venue on match-day two, but then again, from a defensive point of view, they were comfortable for most of the contest, while they didn’t need to be anywhere near their best to get the job done at the other end of the pitch, winning by a goal to nil.

As for the visitors, well, Dudelange have done reasonably well. As the least experienced Europa League side in Group A, the minnows from Luxembourg would’ve been expected to flounder, but they proved a lot of people wrong on match-day one, as they went away to Cyprus and returned with all three points. On that occasion Thursday’s visitors showed that they can hurt teams offensively, but more importantly, they showed lots of fight and determination to stay in the game. Unfortunately, they also showed a lot of defensive weakness.

Defensive deficiencies were once again visible when Dudelange took on Qarabag last time out. On that occasion, they once again showed an ability to hurt teams, but they were far too easy to both create and score against, as they shipped four goals. Conceding seven in two games against APOEL and Qarabag doesn’t exactly bode well ahead of a match against the side that is by far the best that Group A has to offer.

From a betting point of view, this game isn’t the most appealing. Sevilla should win and should win well, but the market reflects that only too well. Those looking to get involved might try ‘Sevilla to Win & Under 3.5 Goals’.

At the end of the day, the hosts, who’ve come under little defensive pressure in this group, could quiet easily run riot on Thursday evening, but given that they seemed content with winning without exerting themselves too much when facing APOEL at home on match-day two, it’s easy to feel that backing a less high-scoring home win offers punters a slither of a value at the current prices.
