Sheffield United vs Liverpool Predictions
- Sheffield United have lost 11 of their 14 Premier League games, conceding 39 goals in the process
- Two of Liverpool’s last three wins have been by at least three goals
- The Reds have scored in all 14 of their Premier League games this term
- Mo Salah has ten goals and six assists in this season’s Premier League
Reds can start improving underwhelming away record
Liverpool pulled of a late comeback to beat Fulham 4-3 at Anfield on Sunday and maintain their perfect record on home soil this season but away from home the Reds have been lacking in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have won all seven of their league fixtures at Anfield but on the road they have just two wins, four draws and one defeat.
Improving that will be key to them keeping pace with – and perhaps even toppling – Arsenal and Manchester City.
For now though, they are in second spot, just two points adrift of the Gunners and they can enhance their position with a comfortable win on the road to basement boys Sheffield United.
Basement boys in disarray
The Blades were hammered 5-0 by Burnley on Saturday, prompting rumours of Paul Heckingbottom’s dismissal as manager, and they are four points adrift of Premier League safety.
They have lost 11 of their 14 Premier League assignments this season with their only win coming at home against Wolves in early November.
It has been little short of a disastrous campaign and they have been particularly poor at the back.
In 14 games, the Blades have conceded a whopping 39 goals – that is an average of 2.8 goals per game – and another heavy defeat could await them at home to Liverpool.
United have shipped at least three goals in three of their last five games and with that in mind, visitors Liverpool are worth selecting at -2 goals on the handicap or, in other words, to win by at least three goals.
Salah can inspire visitors
The Reds have left little to chance in recent wins, beating Brentford 3-0, LASK 4-0 and Fulham 4-3 either side of a respectable 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Klopp’s side are one of only three Premier League teams yet to draw a blank this season after 14 games and they could run rampant at Bramall Lane.
They are spearheaded by one of the league’s leading marksmen in Mo Salah, who is on ten Premier League goals from 14 matches, and he can inspire Liverpool to a comfortable win.
A 3-0 win looks the way to go in the correct score market while Salah is a solid anytime goalscorer pick.
