      Sheffield Wednesday vs Huddersfield Predictions

Wednesday had been on a fine run of form prior to a surprise 3-1 defeat at Charlton last time out. They were unbeaten in 11 matches prior to that and as well as progressing into the Capital One Cup Quarter Finals they’d moved right up into play-off contention in the league.

One bad result is unlikely to derail them too much though and back at Hillsborough, where they’ve only lost one of their 11 matches this season, winning 7 times, you’d fancy the Owls to get back on track.

Huddersfield are under new management but new boss David Wagner’s reign got off to a nightmare start as his side slumped to a 3-0 home defeat to Leeds. He’ll have had two weeks to work with his squad since then, which will have helped familiarise them with his methods but it’s hard to see them avoiding defeat away against a much improved Sheffield Wednesday and surely the value is with a home win, which can be backed at 8/11.

It’s likely to be a good deal closer than 3-0 this time though. Wagner will have demanded a response from his players and they should provide a real test to Wednesday, who still probably don’t possess quite enough quality to make a genuine promotion challenge.

There are goals in this Huddersfield side and they netted in all of Chris Powell’s final four matches in charge. The visitors could get on the scoresheet here but a narrow 2-1 home win might be the way to go if you’re looking for a correct scoreline bet and you can back that to be the case at 15/2.
