Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Both teams kept clean sheets by restricting their opponents to few clear-cut chances in their opening qualifiers of the group. Fewer than three goals have been scored in six of Slovakia’s last eight home matches and eight of 11 overall – very similar numbers to Bosnia-Herzegovina’s recent run of results.

Draw 0-0

Reason for tip

A 0-0 draw appeals in this position as both teams are solid defensively, but lack a little bit of spark in attack – particularly the hosts. Bosnia-Herzegovina scored in all three of their away Nations League games, but not against sides with defences as good as Slovakia’s, which has kept back-to-back home clean sheets.

Slovakia vs Bosnia And Herzegovina Predictions

  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in six of Slovakia’s last eight home matches and eight of 11 overall.
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in seven of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s last eight away games and eight of 11 overall.

Dragons are more dangerous on home soil

Slovakia entertain Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sunday’s second game for each nation in Euro 2024 qualifying Group J with few goals expected.

The Falcons opened up with a 0-0 draw at home to Luxembourg in which attempts on target were few and far between. The Dragons enjoyed a 3-0 win over Iceland in Zenica and never looked in danger of conceding.

Neither side had much of a record for playing in high-scoring affairs before Thursday’s contests with fewer than three goals scored in seven of Slovakia’s last ten and eight of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s last ten games. The visitors appear to be in better form, but a dismal away record of just one win from their last 12 road trips is a big red flag to potential backers.

Defences look set to be on top

Dragons coach Faruk Hadzibegic is unlikely to shuffle his pack too much as he is without the services of injured midfield duo Miralem Pjanić and Mohamed Bešić again. Roma’s talented midfielder Benjamin Tahirović could see more minutes after making an impressive senior international debut from the start against Iceland on Thursday.

The biggest blow to Slovakia boss Francesco Calzona came when Inter centre-back Milan Skiriniar withdrew from the squad with a back injury, but his side do not lack defensive solidity.

Both teams are usually found wanting in the attacking third, which is why the under 2.5 goals bet appeals most in this situation as neither nation is likely to take many risks in the early stages of this qualification programme. A 0-0 draw could well ensue and that looks like being the best option to take in correct score markets.
