Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in Juventus’ last three Serie A matches and also in five of Atalanta’s last six away league contests. Juventus’ defence has been shredded by teams like Frosinone and Hellas Verona recently, so Atalanta’s strikeforce should get some joy.

Atalanta 2-1

Reason for tip

Juventus have conceded exactly two goals in each of their last three games and could do so again to an Atalanta side with a high-class attack. Atalanta usually score on the road but have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven away league matches.

Juve could be there for the taking

Juventus face a tough test from Atalanta on Sunday as they head into the game without key players and shattered confidence.

La Vecchia Signora lost 2-1 at Napoli last week and now sit 15 points behind Inter Milan, whose title defence is almost sealed. The cracks began to appear just prior to Juve’s 1-0 loss to the Nerazzurri last month and have become wider now after Massimiliano Allegri’s side took only four points from the next 12 on offer.

Allegri’s team lost 1-0 at home to Udinese and then made hard work of a 3-2 win over Frosinone in their last two home league games, so this could game could easily go the way of the visitors.

Koopmeiners has been chipping in

Atalanta are not in their best moment either, having taken only one point from their last three Serie A fixtures, but the Bergamo club did earn creditable away draws at Roma and AC Milan recently.

With Ademola Lookman and Charles De Ketelaere leading the attack and reported Juventus transfer target Teun Koopmeiners chipping in with goals from midfield, they can cause the home defence a few problems.

Having been the side’s strength earlier this season, the Bianconeri backline has allowed their opponents to score twice in each of their last three fixtures. Goals look guaranteed here as Atalanta are hardly watertight at the back – even if Dusan Vlahobic and Adrien Rabiot will be missing for Juve.
