Slovenia will still be disappointed at missing out on the European Championships in France this summer. They finished 3rd in their group and were defeated 3-1 on aggregate by a Ukrainian side who just looked too good for them.

They managed to stay undefeated for their last three qualifying matches as well, finishing with 16 points in Group E, five points behind Switzerland and six ahead of Estonia.

Macedonia didn’t have anywhere near the success of their counterparts during their qualification campaign. They finished bottom of Group C with a meagre four points to their name after being beaten in eight of their ten matches.

Their only win of the campaign came at home against a Luxembourg team ranked 142nd in the world, and away from home Macedonia haven’t won since a 1-0 win over Azerbaijan in 2011. 15 of their 21 away days since then have seen them defeated.

Slovenia, on the other hand, have only lost two of their last ten home matches, with six of them being victories. This includes wins against Norway, Switzerland, and Estonia, as well as an impressive performance in their 3-2 defeat to England.

Slovenia have managed to keep a clean sheet in all of their six home wins in their last ten matches, and they are coming up against a Macedonia side who have failed to score in ten of their last 13 away matches. This makes odds of 11/10 for Slovenia to Win to Nil look very attractive, and I’m going for a comfortable 2-0 correct score prediction at 5/1 too.
