Slovenia were able to keep their slim chance at qualification alive when they cruised past Malta 4-0 on Friday. They dominated from the first whistle and were more than worth their win. However, nothing less than a win will suffice here as they will be required to come out victorious in their final three qualification matches to stand a chance of reaching next years World Cup.

The visitors are fresh off the back of a closely contested 1-0 victory at home to Slovakia and that means they’re level on points with Croatia at the top of Group H, only below them on goal difference.

They were exceptionally poor in the European Championship this summer as they exited at the group stage, but they have responded well and are on a four-match unbeaten streak heading into this one.

This one has all the makings of an exciting match. The hosts are in a do or die position and need to get the three points of their qualifying campaign and the visitors will want to win and hope Croatia drop points which as a result would see them at the top of the group.

Slovenia are likely to come flying out of the blocks for this one but are vulnerable defensively and so we’re expecting both teams to score here.
