St Etienne on the search for consistency

It has been a frustrating session so far for St Etienne, whose campaign has peaked with some memorable victories over the likes of Lille and Strasbourg, but they still find themselves in trouble in Ligue 1.

Indeed, the Greens – promoted back to the top flight for this season – have won just four times in 13 outings, while losing on nine occasions.

Two of those reversals have been on home soil, to Lens and Le Havre, while they have been beaten in four of hteir last six outings.

Marseille are well positioned

Looking to pile on the misery will be a Marseille side who have an outstanding record in head-to-heads, winning five of their last seven meetings with St Etienne.

They also arrive at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard having picked up six points from their last two fixtures, courtesy of wins over Monaco (2-1) and Lens (3-1).

The latter of those is one of six victories from seven attempts on the road this season, giving Roberto De Zerbi’s side the best away record in Ligue 1.
