Besiktas welcome Midtjylland in the first leg of their European qualifier, with the Turkish giants looking to take control of the tie on home soil. Besiktas endured a mixed pre-season, winning just one of their last five friendlies, but those results came during preparations and they will be expected to step up significantly in a competitive fixture.

Last season, Besiktas finished near the top end of the Turkish Super Lig and secured European football, and will be hoping to do better than last season where they failed to reach the League round of the Conference League. They do have plenty of experience in Europe though and that  combined with the pressure and atmosphere of playing in Istanbul, could prove crucial in this first leg. .
