Strasbourg vs Nantes Predictions

Hosts can build on opening win

Strasbourg are the best bet to win at home to Nantes on Sunday, having been winners in four of their last six Ligue 1 games at Stade de la Meinau.

Nantes finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season with 36 points, winning eight and losing 14 of their 34 games, while Strasbourg achieved seventh place with 57 points from 16 wins and nine losses.

Strasbourg beat Metz 1-0 in their last Ligue 1 game, with Joaquin Panichelli scoring the only goal in the 86th minute. Priced at 6/5 to win, Strasbourg justified their position as favourites by not allowing Metz a single shot on target.

The hosts will have one eye on next week’s Conference League playoff second leg away to Brondby, but they have only lost one of their last eight Ligue 1 head-to-heads with Nantes.

The visitors started the new season with a 1-0 defeat at champions Paris Saint-Germain, and have now failed to win in six of their last seven Ligue 1 matches across the two campaigns.

Their defence has been porous on the road, with no clean sheets in their last 16 Ligue 1 away games.

A 1-0 home success for Strasbourg appeals in the correct-score market. Five of Nantes’ last six Ligue 1 games have had fewer than three goals and Strasbourg had eight single-goal victories last season.
