Swansea vs Bournemouth Predictions
Swansea haven’t enjoyed a very merry festive season so far. Their 4-1 thrashing at home to West Ham on Boxing Day made it three comprehensive defeats in a row for the South Wales outfit, and it resulted in Bob Bradley being sacked as manager after under three months in charge of the Swans.
It’s no surprise to be fair. The American manager was rather unproven and his appointment as manager was met with a wave of discontent. He failed to turn Swansea’s form around and as he leaves they sit 19th in the table and four points from safety.
With Swansea not expected to appoint a new manager before the New Year, this leaves Alan Curtis and Paul Williams in temporary charge as they look to improve on their record of just two wins in their last 17 matches in all competitions.
Bournemouth didn’t have a very good Boxing Day either, although their defeat was far more expected than Swansea’s. They lost 3-0 at the dominant Chelsea to make it three wins and four defeats from their last seven league games.
This leaves Eddie Howe’s side 12th in the Premier League with a seven point cushion on the drop zone, but away from home they have struggled. They have won just one of their nine Premier League away days this season, losing six of them and drawing the remaining two.
Swansea have won two, drawn two, and lost five of their nine at home this season, but they have only managed two clean sheets and have conceded a league high 20 goals at home. They have managed to score 14 at home as well though, which has made for some incredible spectacles for the neutral.
In fact, seven of their nine home games this season have seen at least three goals scored, and Bournemouth have been involved in high scoring matches in five of their nine away days, including five of their last seven. Each of the last seven meetings between these sides have been high scoring affairs too. This makes odds of 4/5 for Over 2.5 Goals look a good value bet, so I’m backing that. In terms of the final result I can’t separate these sides, so I’m opting for a high scoring 2-2 draw at 12/1 for my correct score predictions.
