Atalanta entertain Marseille in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday and the hosts are the clear favourites to reach the showpiece in Dublin after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

The Serie A outfit have been exceptional at home this season, while Marseille have been poor travellers throughout the campaign and they have the joint worst away record in France’s Ligue 1 despite sitting eighth in the table.

Marseille have four defeats in their last five away in all competitions and they have lost eight of their 15 away Ligue 1 games. Their road woes extend to European competition, as they have managed just one win in seven attempts on their travels this term – including qualifiers – and are winless since the knockout stages began (D1, L2).

Hosts could win convincingly

A 3-1 win for Atalanta is the correct score prediction as Marseille have been leaking goals on their travels. L’OM have conceded at least twice in each of their last five trips and La Dea have scored at least three goals in three of their last six home wins. A goal for the visitors is predicted as they will probably have to go for it at some stage and Atalanta have just one clean sheet in their last six games.
