Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Sweden have scored 13 goals across their last six games, while Kosovo have scored in six of their last eight games. Kosovo won the reverse fixture 2-0 so they have enough attacking quality to trouble their hosts. Sweden were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet themselves in Kosovo and with home advantage should be expected to score.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

There is a temptation to side with the visitors in the double chance market as they hold second spot in the group and a draw would be a positive result in their bid to reach a first major tournament as an independent nation. Kosovo have only lost two of their last 12 games and Sweden are yet to win in qualifying, so a 1-1 draw has a chance here.

Sweden vs Kosovo Predictions

  • Sweden remain winless after thee games (D1, L2).
  • Kosovo have scored in six of their last eight games.
  • Kosovo won the reverse fixture 2-0.

Key clash for Sweden and Kosovo

The battle for second spot in Group B is intense as Kosovo currently hold that position on four points, with Sweden bottom of the standings but still very much in contention to qualify for World Cup 2026.

A defeat for the hosts on Monday would essentially end their bid to reach next summer’s showpiece, however, while Kosovo have a fantastic chance to qualify for a major tournament for the first time as an independent nation.

The Swedes come into this game as the clear favourites but a draw would be a hugely positive result for Kosovo as it would probably be enough to keep hold of second place irrespective of how Slovenia get on against Switzerland in the other Group B fixture. There is some appeal on the 12/5 on offer for the visitors to avoid defeat in the double chance market – but the best angle is perhaps backing both teams to score.

Sweden have gone two games without scoring but they did manage 13 goals in just four games before drawing that pair of blanks. The Blågult lost the reverse fixture 2-0 but on the balance of play they were a little unfortunate and they did create plenty of chances, and they have a good scoring record at home having struck in five straight games before a 2-0 loss in qualifying to Switzerland.

Kosovo have scored in six of their last eight games and they proved in the first meeting they have enough attacking talent to cause Sweden problems, so both of these teams look capable of getting on the scoresheet.

A 1-1 draw is the correct score prediction as Kosovo are a tough team to break down and may be able to steal what could be a crucial point in Goteborg. Kosovo have only lost two of their last 12 games and Sweden are yet to win in qualifying, so the visitors can get the result they need to stay in pole position in the fight for second place in Group B.
