Sydney FC vs Wellington Phoenix Predictions

• Sydney have failed to score in three of their four league games this season
• Both teams have not scored in three of Wellington’s last four matches
• Sydney are unbeaten in their last seven games against Phoenix

Sydney struggling in attack

It has been a tough start to the season for Sydney, who have recorded a couple of draws and a couple of defeats from their four matches so far.

Steve Corica’s side have had a lot of problems in the final third, scoring just twice so far, with both of those coming in a 2-2 draw against Newcastle Jets.

At least one team has kept a clean sheet in 75% of their league fixtures, while their cup match against Macarthur last week was also 0-0 at full-time, although Sydney eventually won on penalties.

Phoenix not quite rising

Wellington are another side finding goals hard to come by, netting just three times in their four A-League matches.

They are also struggling to keep clean sheets, already conceding eight goals this season, including four in a 4-0 drubbing against Newcastle Jets last time out.

Steve Corica’s side have lost their last two league matches and picked up just one point on the road, in a 1-1 draw at Macarthur.

I think this will be a struggle for the visitors, but I do not think there will be many goals. I predict both teams will not score and think Sydney will win, with a 1-0 correct score prediction.
