Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur’s winless streak continued in midweek as a strong Liverpool team knocked them out of the League Cup with a 2-1 win at Anfield. In fairness to Spurs they did have an almost entirely second string team on the pitch, with Eric Dier being the only first team regular selected in the starting line up, due to Spurs’ European commitments.,

This means that their first team squad should be fairly fresh for this match, and they will be hoping to break out of their four match winless streak ahead of their Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.

Last weekend saw them play out their second consecutive goalless draw as Bournemouth thwarted their attack. This came after a draw at Bayer Leverkusen and a 1-1 draw at West Brom. All of these four winless games have been away from home though, so they will be expecting a much more confident performance at White Hart Lane.

At home Spurs have won three on the bounce in all competitions and have won four of their six overall games this season. They will turn towards their stand-in striker Son Heung-Min in the absence of Harry Kane. The South Korean was the Premier League Player of the Month last month and has found the net four times in the league this season. Backing him to score anytime at 6/4 looks a good value offering considering his recent form.

Leicester’s star players haven’t really set off so far this season. Their top scorer in the Premier League is Islam Slimami with two to his name, and Jame Vardy also has two. Away from home they have been shocking though, and as a result none of their players have scored more than a single away goal in the league this season.

The Premier League champions managed an impressive 3-1 win at home to Crystal Palace last weekend, but their home form and their away form are two entirely different entities this season. They have lost all four of their away days in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals and conceding a huge 13 in the process.

This will make Spurs’ eyes light up as they look for a confidence boosting win. Their last home match was an impressive 2-0 win over the previously unbeaten Manchester City, and they’re now facing a side who have conceded at least three goals in three of their four away days this term. All of Leicester’s away games have seen Over 2.5 Goals, so I think odds of 6/4 for a Tottenham Hotspur Win and Over 2.5 Goals are good value for money. I’m going for a 3-1 correct score prediction at 14/1 as well.
