Toulouse vs Auxerre Predictions

Struggling Auxerre are expected to fall short

Toulouse should be backed to get a home win over Auxerre on Sunday and add to the visitors’ recent woes.

Toulouse are ninth in Ligue 1, nine places and 17 points above Auxerre. The hosts have won eight of their 19 games this season, while Auxerre have just three wins.

Toulouse kept up their recent winning trend with a 2-0 win over Brest last weekend. This was expected to be a close match according to the pre-game betting, but Toulouse were comfortable winners at odds of 13/8.

Toulouse are in excellent form, having won four of their last five Ligue 1 games, while Auxerre are struggling. They are without a win in four matches and have not tasted victory in any of their nine away games this season.

Auxerre are enduring a difficult run of results, having sustained four successive Ligue 1 reverses and failing to win nine of their last ten games. They have lost eight of their last ten away games in the league.

Toulouse carry an attacking threat, having scored at least twice in four of their last six Ligue 1 games. They have also netted two or more goals in ten of their 19 league matches this season.

The visitors have looked vulnerable in defence. Auxerre have conceded on all nine of their Ligue 1 away days this season, failing to keep a shutout in six games. They have shipped 17 goals on the road – an average of 1.89 per game.

At least one of these sides has failed to find the net in five of the last seven Ligue 1 head-to-head clashes and, with Auxerre having lost two games on the spin by a single goal, Toulouse to win 1-0 looks a decent correct-score pick.
