Red Bull Salzburg and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Salzburg have won all four of their competitive matches this season, scoring 16 goals in the process, but they have conceded in the last three of those, including against Twente last week, so history can repeat itself in this one.

Red Bull Salzburg 2-1

Reason for tip

Salzburg won last week’s first leg 2-1 and can replicate that scoreline in this one. The Austrian side have triumphed in all four of their games this season, but have conceded in three of those, while both of Twente’s competitive matches this term have finished 2-1 – one they have won, one they have lost.

Twente vs Red Bull Salzburg Predictions

  • Salzburg won last week’s first leg in Austria 2-1
  • The visitors have reached the Champions League group stage in each of the last five seasons
  • This is Twente’s first Champions League campaign for 13 years

Salzburg’s experience to tell

Salzburg will head to Enschede with a 2-1 lead to protect from last week’s first leg but that does not mean the Austrian giants will sit back as they look to seal their place in the Champions League play-off round in style.

Pep Lijnders’ side are certainly used to advancing in Europe’s premier club competition, they have reached the group stage in each of the last five years, and confidence should be high, as they have won all four of their competitive matches this season by an aggregate score of 16-4.

However, the Austrian giants have conceded in three of those four games and Twente, who bounced back from last week’s first leg by beating NEC in the Eredivisie, can get on the scoresheet, but that may be as good as it gets for them.

Twente heading for Champions League exit

This is Twente’s first Champions League campaign for 13 years after last season’s third-place finish in the Eredivisie and they have a strong home record, as they have won their last six at De Grolsch Veste, a run that includes a 7-2 success against Volendam.

The pressure will be on Joseph Oosting’s side heading into this game, however, and as they need to go all out for the victory, they could get picked off by their more experienced European opponents.

Salzburg won last week’s first leg 2-1 and they can replicate that scoreline on Tuesday to seal their place in the next round.
