Twente vs Roda JC Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Twente have started the season rather well after their disappointing 13th place finish last term. Their 2-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday made it four games unbeaten for them and pushed them to 5th in the Eredivisie. They are a huge 11 points off the top spot already, but they aren’t too far away from the Europa League qualification spots.

The hosts are one of the more exciting teams in this division, with their 20 goal haul putting them among the top scorers and their 16 goals conceded putting them not too far off the worst defence in the league, so we could be in for a treat on Friday.

Much of their attacking success is thanks to summer signing Enes Unal, with the 19 year old forward netting seven Eredivisie goals in his eight appearances so far. He failed to score last weekend, but he has netted five goals in Twente’s last six games and is an excellent choice for an anytime goalscorer bet. Four of his goals this season have come at home as well, further strengthening his chances of finding the back of the net.

Roda JC have had no such luck in terms of individual performances. None of their players have scored more than one away goal so far this season and their top scorer home and away has only netted twice.

It’s no surprise that they’re struggling then, with their 1-0 win against Excelsior earlier this month being their first win of the season. Away from home they have lost three, drawn two, and won one, failing to score in four of these six matches.

Twente, at the other end of the spectrum, have won three, drawn one, and lost two of their six home games. They have scored in every match at home this season and have netted at least twice in four of them. All six of their home games have seen at least three goals in total thanks to this gung-ho approach, and it could give Roda JC a chance for a rare away goal.

However, I highly doubt the visitors can outscore Twente, especially since Roda JC have conceded 13 goals in their six away days so far. Odds of 5/4 for a Twente Win and Over 2.5 Goals looks very good value considering both teams’ form, and I’m backing a 3-1 correct score prediction at 11/1 as well.
