Draw

Reason for tip

Udinese have drawn three of their last five home league games while Roma have drawn their last two away Serie A contests. This game falls between two huge Europa League clashes for Roma, who may well put in a low-intensity performance in order to preserve energy for the big return leg against AC Milan.

Draw 0-0

Reason for tip

Roma have kept four consecutive clean sheets in all competitions and have been reliant on set-pieces for their goals of late. Udinese are not a terrible side in defence and could keep things quiet back there to earn a 0-0 draw if they are vigilant on corners and free-kicks.

Giallorossi have bigger fish to fry this week

Wedged between two massive Europa League clashes against AC Milan, Roma’s trip to Udinese could turn out to be a bit of a non-event.

The Giallorossi have a bit of wriggle room in their pursuit of a top-five finish that would almost certainly bring Champions League football, but they want to get there in style by winning European silverware.

And so Daniele De Rossi looks likely to rest some key players for this trip to Bluenergy Stadium, where Scudetto pacesetters Inter Milan almost came unstuck last weekend.

Zebrette were seconds away from stopping Inter’s march

Despite being without four key attacking players. Zebrette gave the Nerazzurri a tough time. They led at the break and held off Inter’s inevitable fightback until the fourth minute of stoppage time when Davide Frattesi gambled on a Lautaro Martinez shot that was tipped onto the post and slotted home the rebound.

Inter have been able to find that little bit extra when needed late in games, but Roma have relied on stout defensive to get their points recently. The Giallorossi edged past struggling Sassuolo 1-0 at home last month then failed to score in a 0-0 draw at Lecce.

Last weekend’s Derby della Capitale win over Lazio was secured thanks to a set-piece goal and their 1-0 Europa League win at the San Siro arrived in similar fashion. Udinese may just need to be alert on corners and free-kicks to prevent Roma from gaining traction in this clash and a 0-0 draw could be the outcome.
