      Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

For all their success so far this season, Bayern have kept only one clean sheet in their last seven matches in all competitions and both teams have scored in nine of their 11 away games. Expect more entertainment in this cup clash at Union Berlin.

      Draw 2-2

      Reason for tip

Bayern made it 11 wins in 12 league games with Saturday’s 3-1 success at home to St Pauli, but the only exception was a 2-2 draw away here at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei in November. Bayern have been held to score draws on three of their last four visits to the German capital and a repeat scenario may be on the cards.

Union Berlin vs Bayern Munich Predictions

      • Bayern have kept only one clean sheet in their last seven matches in all competitions
      • Both teams have scored in nine of Bayern’s 11 away games
      • Both teams have scored in Union Berlin’s last six matches at home to Bayern

Bayern may not have things all their own way

Bayern Munich are the most successful team in the history of the DFB-Pokal but they have not claimed the title since 2020 and will be keen to make amends this season.

Having brushed aside Cologne 4-1 in the previous round, the Bavarians turn their attention to Union Berlin in the last 16 and Vincent Kompany won’t want to take too many risks with his team selection.

Bayern fielded a strong side for the previous round victory over Cologne and they will be wary of the threat possessed by Union Berlin, who are the only team to have taken a point off of the Bundesliga leaders this season.

Bayern made it 11 wins in 12 league games with Saturday’s 3-1 success at home to St Pauli, the only exception being a 2-2 draw away here at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei.

It means that Bayern have been held to score draws on three of their last four visits to the German capital and backing both teams to score may be a safer approach than ploughing into the Bundesliga champions at prohibitive odds.

For all their success so far this season, Bayern have kept only one clean sheet in their last seven matches in all competitions and both teams have scored in nine of their 11 away games.

That includes DFB-Pokal trips to third-tier side Wehen Wiesbaden and Cologne and Union Berlin have ensured that both teams have scored in their last six Bundesliga home games against Bayern.

The net has bulged at both ends in four of Union Berlin’s last five at home, too, and correct-score punters should take a chance on a repeat 2-2 draw between these sides.
