Utrecht vs Feyenoord Predictions
- Just 1pt separates these two clubs heading into Sunday’s clash.
- The pair drew 1-1 when they met for their reverse league meeting in August.
- Feyenoord would leapfrog their hosts and possibly move into the top 4 with a win.
- Utrecht could move as high as third if they can secure all three points on Sunday.
A close and competitive ninety minutes is expected on Sunday
Feyenoord have only lost one of their last seven matches against Utrecht, with the pair drawing twice during that period, and both teams have scored in four of the duos’ last six encounters. Both teams scored in Utrecht’s last match against Heracles while Feyenoord have drawn three of their last six matches and four of those games have seen both teams score, so you can see why we have back goals to be scored in this game by both teams and for the visitors to avoid defeat this weekend.
Utrecht have only lost three of their eight home games this season in the Eredivisie and while they are yet to draw, the fact that Feyenoord have drawn four of their eight away games does suggest that a stalemate could well be on the cards this Sunday. Both teams have midweek KNVB Beker ties to negotiate before they can turn their full attention to this weekends’ action and it will be interesting to see the strength of side each team plays in that competitions and if it has any effect on Sun day’s starting eleven.
Utrecht average 1.88 points per home game and Feyenoord average 1.25 points per away game, which points towards there being a good chance that we will see both teams take home a share of the spoils on Sunday. Utrecht concede an average of 1.00 goals per home game and Feyenoord score an average of 1.38 goals p[er away game, which is why we have backed a final scoreline of 1-1.
Feyenoord are becoming draw specialists away from home
Both teams have scored in 56% of Utrecht’s league games this season as well as in 56% of Feeynoord’s Eredivisie outings, suggesting that there is a good chance both defences will be breached this weekend. 88% of Utrecht’s home games have produced over 1.5 goals and 75% of Feyenoord’s away games have also seen over 1.5 goals scored, which points towards at least two goals being scored in Sunday’s match.
Utrecht have only failed to score in 25% of their home games and Feyenoord have only failed to score in 25% of their away games, and we are confident that both teams will find the back of the net this weekend. Both teams have performed to a very similar standard this season but recent results suggest that Feyenoord’s performances have been improving, which is why we feel the visitors will secure a point on Sunday.
We’re confident that both teams will score in Sunday’s match and we have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. Feyenoord have a good record against their hosts, only losing one of the pairs’ last twelve encounters in all competitions, and of late the visitors’ have looked more consistent than they did earlier in the season and with four draws on the road already, we feel Sunday’s clash will also end in a stalemate.
